HPV in men is not widely discussed, but it is a problem. This is because the public perception is that this disease is only for women. Unfortunately, men who have H.P.V. can develop a wide array of health problems such as the onset of multiple forms of cancer including anal and penile cancer.

HPV in men is spread by surface contact. Specifically, skin-to-skin contact. A man using a condom might, for example, have a subclinical genital lesion that is not covered by the condom. If that skin comes in direct contact with his partner's skin, then, skin-to-skin contact has occurred, and transmission can occur despite condom use.

The virus is spread through skin-to-skin sexual contact. It can be during vaginal, anal or even in rare instances, oral sex. A condom offers more protection, but not enough in most cases because there are still uncovered areas of the genitals that can become infected.The warts can disappear without an ounce of treatment, but it does take time. The only problem is we can't pinpoint a timeline since it will differ from one individual to another. The option is there, but most people choose a treatment since they can be painful, uncomfortable, and bring about insecurity.

But the good news is that the vast majority of the 250 recognised strains of HPV cause no symptoms, signs or illness and our immune system works to destroy the infection with no side effects. However, medical researchers have isolated 15 strains of the virus that can lead to serious health risks.

Those infections which do not show any symptoms are the worst. Therefore on noticing any change the person must immediately let the doctor do his tests to confirm the problem. Depending on the situation ad the results of the case the doctor will give treatments for the infections. We have to remember that there is no HPV treatment but only for the infections that shows on the body.

It is important to understand, though, that not all cases of this particular virus will result in visible warts in the genital area of the individual that is infected. If warts are detected, they may be any size, and/or shape. Unfortunately, apart from the visible appearance of genital warts or warts that can be found on the thighs, the anus, or other places on the outside of the body, most symptoms are internal and may not be discovered until a large amount of damage has been caused.
